The new style Hunter original 2014

Some weeks ago got my new blue Hunter original wellies. Styling has changed a little bit. Boot itself has changed a lot too.

Rubber material is different than before, somehow it feels more flexible meanwhile it is not thinner. Perhaps there has been some improvment against aging, only time will tell how robust boots thes are in use.

Fitting is much wider too, the footbed is wider and shafts are at least 1 cm wider now. Both changes are not so welcome to me, old model was better. But if you have thick calves so these boots are for you. Can't say that they are sloshing anyways.

Insoles are included with this new model. They are quite thin, and after some use they are rolling around.

After some tests I must say that these wellies are very comfortable tho. They are comfortable and nice for walking. I suggest.

Hunter Original Great silver.

These are the boots that you can see on my blog. I truly love these boots.
If you compare them with standard Original wellies, there is some differences. The rubber is a little bit of thinner than others. Lining is colour striped when in standard edition lining is white. These "Great" models feel lighter in use and they are much more flexible.

This pair in picture is now 14 months old and very much used. Took this pic today, we were shopping with my family. It is so nice to wear proper footwear in autumn rainy weather. Not only me, many others weared wellies today as I noticed. One girl was wearing black Hunters too, in some reason in my country black is most wanted colour for wellies.

And yes, I have swum with these silver Hunters slipped on my feet last summer. It was so fun. Boots must be tested in many kind of situations, and used very often.

The Original boot. It may be the most known Hunter wellie ever. This is my third pair of navy blue Hunter originals. As many people have claimed, these china made boots have cheaper feeling that "made in Scotland" old school wellies.

Two pairs of scottish original Hunters before these gave me some view of quality changes. New made in China boots are different than older ones, but very very good boot tho. This particular pair feels some how rigid, but after heavy use they are very comfortable.

Best thing in Hunters is that you can wear them all day long and your feet wont get sore. I have walked quite long trips with Original Hunters with smile in my face, 15 kilometers like nothing. Sometimes in forest, other time in city on asphalt.

Another advantage is narrow footbed and instep, so boots will stay on your foot even if you go faster or in deep mud. Couple of times I have even gone swimming with my Hunters pulled on. There is no fear that boots would slip off.

This is very important feature when you want to walk or run with your boots. It is not good if your wellies slosh around like crazy.

What if you boots get wet inside? Well, in first place it doesn't matter very much if weather is reasonable, in my opinion the feeling is so nice. But if you want to dry the lining of Hunters, it seems to be so easy, just let your wellies lay on sun about an hour and thats it! An other way that I have used many times, just put one towel inside your wellie and step on it, after that your boots feel nearly dried. Absolutely useful!

Hunters for life?

What it ever means?
Let me explain it to you a little. All my life I have enjoyed much of wellies, and about 12 years ago I decided to buy two pairs of Hunter wellies. One exclusive pair with neoprene lining and an other pair of waders.

Must tell you that they were very nice boots indeed. They were used a lot in different situations, and even this day my old waders are just in shape for use. After some years I bought Hunter original boots, just to try out how they could feel. The feeling was wonderful! How supply and comfot can rainboots ever be. So after that time I have loved to use Hunter wellies very much.

In childhood I weared Nokian kontio boots, but there is difference like day and night beetween these two brands. So until today,  have several pairs of Hunters and this is a story about it. Hope you will like.
